A Christmas Tradition for Women

The time of year is upon us once again, when we turn toward the celebration of the Christmas season and the 16th Annual ~ “From the Heart”, and it wouldn’t be the same without women from all over the Seacoast.

As we enter this season, we realize that many this year are facing uncertain and difficult times, but the gift and truth of Christmas – Jesus Christ, allows us to face all uncertainty with hope, joy and peace. On Thursday, December 3rd and Friday, December 4th, Bethany Church will open its doors hosting “From the Heart” with guest speaker and author, Jan Silvious, presenting “Good News for Hard Times”.

Jan has been reaching out to women for over 20 years with her unique messages and style delivered through books, radio shows and speaking engagements. We look forward to the lives she will touch and encourage at “From the Heart”. In addition, “From the Heart” is adding a special touch with local interior designers coming together to decorate our hall with Christmas trees.

We hope to have you join us! Tickets will go on sale beginning November 8th. Tickets cost $5. Please contact the church for ticket information at: 603-431-3646. This event fills up quickly, so please save this date, invite your friends, and make sure you get your ticket(s).

The sanctuary doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event starts promptly at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the program. There will be ministry leaders available following the evening presentation to answer any questions you or your guests may have.

Guest Speaker - Jan Silvious

Jan Silvious has been reaching out to women for over 20 years, helping them to think biblically, reason clearly, live fully, and embrace an intelligent attitude toward life.

As a featured speaker at Women of Faith arena events and Pre-Conferences, Jan has encouraged audiences across the country and across every denomination, challenging them to grow into the women God has called them to be. She has been a plenary speaker for Precept Ministries' National Women’s Convention, Moody's Women's Conferences, Moody's Founder’s Week, and Balancing the Demands of Life Women’s Conferences.

In addition to her work with churches and women’s organizations in the United States, Jan’s speaking ministry has taken her to Canada, Europe, and Central America.

On the radio, Jan is a frequent guest on Moody Broadcasting’s “Midday Connection,” as well as other national call-in and interview shows. For five years she and Kay Arthur co-hosted the nationally broadcast call-in program, “Precept Live.” In her earlier radio career, Jan produced her own short-feature radio program which aired in the southeastern United States.
Jan has also appeared on several television programs including James Robison’s “Life Today,” “100 Huntley Street,” and Kay Arthur’s “Precepts for Life.”

Of the ten books Jan has authored, two of her favorites have been reader favorites as well: Big Girls Don’t Whine and Fool-Proofing Your Life. The ongoing reader response to these titles has spurred Jan to immerse herself in seeking out biblically sound, psychologically positive answers for women’s challenges.

In 2009, in addition to their other speaking events, Jan and longtime friend Babbie Mason are teaming up with their new “Big Girl—Big God” conferences designed to minister to the whole woman—body, soul, and spirit. Jan and Babbie bring years of experience and loads of heart as they reach out to their sisters in the Lord with practical, life-piercing truth.

Jan's ministry truly is 'encouraging women to embrace wisdom—an intelligent attitude toward life.'
